Gale and Ollie living a comfortable life in their new home |
![]() Gale and Ollie's new family sent an email to the fosterer who cared for them until they were ready to go to their new homes. This is what they said: Just wanted to send you pics of Ollie and Gale. There's 2 pics - one on their first weekend with us and the other just last week dozing on a big cushion. They are getting ever more inquisitive and have now realised that there is another world on the other side of the front and back door. They've had their injections and the kitten leukaemia one too, we're waiting for them to be old enough to be neutered before they can venture in to the world on the other side of the doors! |

Dillon and Fletch playing in their new home. |
![]() Dillon and Fletch's adopter wrote: Just to let you know how happy Dillon and Fletch are in their new home. Dillon loves to nibble my arms in a morning to wake me up and Fletch is just so loving. They have recently been outside to explore and love chasing flies. They love getting under my feet, follow me everywhere and play with anything that moves. I wasn’t initially looking to adopt 2 cats but I can certainly recommend it as they play together and clean each other, and are such fun to watch. Many thanks for allowing me the honour of being their Mum!! |

Millie in her new home and loved by all who know her. |
![]() |
| Millie's family wrote to let us
know how well Millie, who was a little puppy last time we saw her, is
getting along. "We are still wonderfully happy with Millie, formally called Nina, I think. She was a little white staffy pup with a few black spots. Millie is great around the house, in the car, on the lead etc. She is a real pleasure to have. The kids and Millie have a great time together, especially in the snow. The house is unusually quiet and empty at the moment as Millie is at the vets being speyed. Millie has the life of luxury and is spoilt by us all. Everybody who meets Millie wants to take her home with them. No way she is mine! Although I do sometimes share her with David, Josh and Bonnie, Ha Ha. She is quite happy to follow me around all day and sit on my lap whenever she can. I wish every dog could have a home like Millie, and every home was fortunate enough to have a dog like Millie." |

Sandy - Home At Last! |
![]() ![]() |
| Sandy had been in kennels for a long time and
at last she has found the caring home she deserves. Her new family wrote to us. My partner and I recently adopted Sandy. And, although she's only been with us for 10 days, it feels like 10 months. She seems to have settled in very well. Her wound (from being spayed) is healing very well. She is so well behaved, housetrained, clean and her recall off lead is excellent (I've tested this in quiet places with no dogs around). She's learnt how to play again and she loves cuddles. |

Herbie relaxing at home |
![]() Herbie's owner writes: As we've had Herbie for over a year now I thought it was time I emailed an update and some pictures. Herbie is an absolutely gorgeous boy and we are very happy with him. Initially we thought he was going to be a timid young man but as his confidence as grown as has his personality! Due to his poor eye sight he isn't able to go out much and he stays in our back garden where he is more than happy catching worms and seeing off the magpies. Herbie has still got his loud purr that he arrived with and loves his cuddles, but now he also likes to chase and be chased around the house and garden. I've attached some pictures so you can see how he's grown. I cannot thank the RSPCA, particularly Doris, for bringing this bundle of joy into our lives. |

Squiggle and Nutmeg, happy in their new home. |
![]() Squiggle and Nutmeg's adopters wrote to their
fosterer with an update. Here is what they said
Just thought I'd give you a brief update on how the kittens are. They both seem to have settled in really well over the last two weeks and have taken over the house with all their toys, and frantic running around! But its quite nice because after they've tired themselves out they both like a bit of a cuddle and a sleep on my lap. They've had a bit of a role reversal just recently and Squiggle (tabby face) is now the dominant one of the two and Nutmeg (white face) the more affectionate. Had their first lot of the vaccinations on Wednesday, Nutmeg was a little darling for the vet, well behaved, kept still whilst having her health check and jab, whereas Squiggle was a little devil and wouldn't keep still! Best wishes Laura, Neil, Nutmeg & Squiggle x x |

Sol on his camping trip |
![]() ![]() The Wilkinson family wrote to us some time ago
and sent these photos.
They said: This is sol, our lurcher, a deerhound/greyhound cross. We adopted him nearly two years ago and we think he deserves his minute of fame. When we first got him he was extremely nervous and suffered terrible separation anxiety. He ripped up carpets and chewed through the alarm system when he was left alone. When he finally understood we would always come back he began to settle down. Now he's perfect (well nearly). This is sol on his holidays, he loves camping, but now he's promoted himself from the floor to the campbeds. He loves a good walk and you can see the look of happiness, as the wind blows through his hair, when he was posing for the last picture. |

Ole and Gabby (previously known as Ebony and Ivory) |
Ole and Gabby's owners recently wrote to us and
sent the above photos.
They wrote: We wanted to let you know how Ole and Gabby are getting on. We adopted these gorgeous 8 week old kittens (then called Ebony and Ivory) on the 2nd December 2006 and they've really made our house into a home - albeit one with less ornaments now! Ole (the white one) is still quite nervous and probably always will be, but you wouldn't guess it once he's got used to you! His sister Gabby is really adventurous and loves to climb - the curtains, the furniture .... but especially on our clothes maiden! Ole follows her everywhere, they are inseperable. I just hope he can get himself down from following Gabby on one of her climbs!! So this is a big thank you from us for giving us the opportunity to adopt. Ole and Gabby are settled and happy and so are we. |

Frankie and Tony (previously known as Lester and Mason) |
![]() Frankie and Tony happily settled in their new
home. Their new owner has told us that "they have now been to the
vets for their op, but I don't think they
have really noticed what has
happened".

Billy who was Noah, happily settled in his new home |
![]() Billy's owner recently sent us photos along
with the following message:
Last year we got in contact with a lovely lady called Doris who told us she had 2 kittens housed at MyPetStop in Denton. I went there to collect one of the kittens and we thought we would email a picture of Billy (Noah he was named then). Billy was named by my 6 year old. He's very big and is brilliant company for my ten year old female Jess. He's a beautiful cat with lots of character. |

let us know how well she is settling in with her new family, both human
and canine. Here are just a couple.

Rambo, who only needed a good home to bring out the best in him |
![]() Rambo's delighted owners sent his photos in recently. Rambo was adopted just before Christmas 2005, he was and still is a typical terrier. Here he is with his chew, his china friend, which Rambo likes to think of as a real dog, on his holidays and with a cracker (a safe doggy one) he won that Christmas. His owners say, "Rambo has become a brilliant friend and has learned a lot since we got him. He has also brought lots of happiness to our grandchildren and is very protective towards them". |

Jessie who was with
the branch for over 10 months, now happily enjoying herself in her new
home
|
Jessie's new family wrote recently:
Just to let you know that Jessie has settled in and made her self at home. She's a wonderful friend and enjoys our walks together. To see her running round on the fields like a pup warms our hearts. Already Jess has made a new friend (a nine and a half stone German shepherd) they get on so well. May I take this
opportunity to thank you for entrusting Jessie in
to both mine and Mandy's care, she will be well looked after and will
receive all the love she needs.

Honey (formerly Harley) |
![]() Harley who is now called
Honey (which we think really suits her) went to live with
Stephen & Hilary in Elland, West Yorkshire. She is a much
loved and
spoilt young lady who is very popular with everyone.
Her
favorite
things are going for walks in the lovely surroundings and going for car
rides. She is always in the car first.

Qara previously
known as Sadie |
![]() Qara's owner wrote to us some time ago - apologies to Qara for the delay in posting her beautiful photographs: I wanted to let you know how our cat is getting on. She was called Sadie initially but we changed her name to Qara. We adopted her at the beginning of January having been looking at the web site for weeks. Qara had been in the cattery at Denton for about 4 months and she's such a lovely cat we couldn't believe that she hadn't been rehomed sooner. Maybe it had something to do with her age (only 6) and the fact that she was a very nervous cat but as we wanted an adult cat she was perfect for us. Our thanks to Doris for an
incredibly fast adoption process. We went to see Qara one
Saturday morning, Doris visited us at home in the afternoon and Qara
came home with us the next day. Initially she was frightened of
almost everything and hid underneath a cupboard for several days but
she's now much more laid back, is very affectionate, loves attention
and is now happy to be picked up. However she is still very
nervous of strangers and gives the vet a hard time.
I've enclosed a couple of
photographs, one of Qara in her usual place by the patio doors on the
look out for any cat that dares to invade her territory as she'll chase
them off. The other photograph shows her by the pond on the
lookout for frogs. Note the paw held up, she always sits like
this with one paw up usually to pat you for attention. She's a
lovely, gentle, affectionate cat and we wouldn't be without her.

Bruno in his new home |
![]() Bruno's owner writes
"I have attached some photos of Bruno to be put on the web site. He came to his new home on the 30th of April 2006. There was initially a few teething problems due to him being a very insecure little boy and he still has his off days when he won't let me out of his sight. Other than that he is extremely loving, enjoys playing with his toys and meeting new play mates in the park. I feel he missed out on puppy fun due to being in kennels for so long at an early age and am trying to make up for that. I have to admit he is totally spoilt! It is extremely rewarding for me to see how happy he is now and I wouldn't be without him." |

Monty (aka Pluto) The two photos are of Monty earning his keep by helping his owner with work at the computer & Monty in his second favourite place! |
![]() Monty's owners wrote to us some time ago and sent us these photos. They told us that they came to MyPetStop to see Pluto in February and after a successful home visit took him home the very next day. They renamed him Monty but admit that they should have called him Mischief! They also said that: "On his first night in his new home he was belly up on my knee sleeping soundly and he's settled in very quickly. He's clearly the boss around the house. He's helping us to to get to know the neighbours as we often have to go and ask for our cat back as he sneaks in through their window or their cat flap! He's still extremely friendly and fussy and we wouldn't have it any other way. A huge thank you to everyone at the RSPCA who all do a fantastic job, especially Doris and Tom who sped the application through over the weekend. Without you guys we wouldn't have our very special family member, Monty." |

Darcy (aka Flash) in her new home |
![]() In July 2005 my husband and I adopted 9 week old Flash - a gorgeous black and white kitten. We knew he was the one for us the moment we saw him.. On that day he managed to escape and was hilariously chased through the corridors of the kennels. Since then, nothing much has changed. He is still as fast as ever and completely bonkers! We renamed him Darcy but I think Spider would have been a more suitable name. He climbs everything. He is the most loving cat I have ever had - he loves his cuddles and spends every night sleeping on the pillow with us - purring like a little motorbike. We love him to death! Many thanks to Doris for allowing us to adopt Darcy
and all
the staff at the rehoming centre. I have attached a couple of pictures
- on the day we got him (how tiny he was) and current (his usual
position - sleeping on the bed!)

| Max with his new friend Madi |
.......... .......... Max has quickly become an integrated part of
our family, and even
though we have only had him a short period of time, it feels like he
has been around forever. He was very tentative at first, but we did our
best to make him feel safe and secure and he soon found his voice. Our
other dog (Madi) preferred his new bed and Max liked Madi's old bed! He
seemed to sleep a lot at first - we think his ordeal must have taken a
lot out of him, but now his character is really starting to shine and
Max can be best described as loving, friendly, loyal and extremely
protective of us and Madi. Madi is still getting used to having a
friend in the house, but each day that goes by they bond more and more,
they are even snuggled in the same basket some mornings when I get up.
They love chasing each other on the field and it
is a wonderful sight
to see Max have the freedom we think he craved. We went
on holiday soon
after adopting Max and the two weeks we spent bonding together have
paid off a treat. We could not imagine life without him now. The day
Max went to the vets to be neutered, Madi was extremely quiet all day
(very out of character), we don’t think she would like it
either

| Peggy enjoying her new home |
Hi my name is Peggy (Guess why I was called that) I enjoys being brushed and having her tummy tickled. I also like following my new mum around when she is doing the washing in case she drops anything that I can steal. So far mum has found her socks and dads boxer shorts in the garden and in my bed (don't know how they got there)! When I dreams mum says I dream with 4 legs. She says my little stump twitches, but I don't mind only having 3 legs and runs as fast as all of the other dogs I meet on my walks. I like a scratch on the left hand side because I can't do it myself. A lady we meet on our walk who
does dog shows said mum
&
dad should put me in for the prettiest eyes competition. I think I'd
win. So does Bailey, my new golden retriever boyfriend
from up the
road. Love Peggy.

| Molly and new friend Merlin |
Hi! My name is Molly (St Bernard) with my new friend Merlin. As you can see we were made for each other. Been to Rivington today. Had great fun paddling. Can't wait to go again. I had no trouble picking my bed. The couch in the dining room does very well. Merlin really doesn't seem to mind when I slob all over him. As you can see I do slobber a lot. Never mind! Mum and Dad don't seem to mind cleaning it up. Luv, hugs and big slobby kisses, Molly |

| Sophie
enjoying her
new home and family |
![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hello my name is Sophie I was adopted on the 8th May 03 and has settled in to my new home very well. My family's other dog Weasle and I get on great guns. She is a little older than me and shows me the ropes. I have learnt a lot with my new family though I can still get a little over excited with joggers and bikes, but I am getting better all the time. I have been on some great days out and love going for trips in the car. So, as I am feeling so much better now with my new family, I thought I would send you some photos to show everyone how good I look. |

| Floss enjoying her new home |
![]() |
| My name is Floss. I left you about 6 weeks ago to live with the Hackney family. We have long walks in the park and down the valley. I take over their bed at night and I have all but a crown, so to speak. I have a friend called Rocky, he is a staffy. I love to bite his ears he does not seem to mind. He enjoys a good run in the morning just like me. I just thought I would let you know how happy the Hackneys are to have me about. They give me lots of treats so they must love me! Thank you for saving me just for them. Love Floss | |

| Molly in her
new home |
![]() |
| Molly's
owner writes: We thought we would send you a picture of our
lovely dog Molly. We adopted her from the branch about 4 months ago
although she was called Bonny we decided to rename her Molly.
When we got her you could really tell she was treated badly
as
you could see her ribs and when we gave her food she scoffed it down in
seconds. But now four months on she has put weight on and you can no
longer see her ribs. She is a loving dog and loves to stuggle
up
at night on the sofa. Molly is a great dog but
doesn't really
like other dogs much but we have learned how to cope with her pulling
and barking when she is on walks and she sees dogs. When we
go
out she sits on the top of the sofa staring out the window waiting for
us to come back and when we do she gets really excited and runs about
jumping up and down. She is a loyal and loving companion and
it
is nice to think that we made such a sad
neglected dog feel loved and
happy again |

|
| Cassy (light tan) and Tess (black) | |
| Cassy
was a victim of owner cruelty and brought in by an Inspector.
She
was with us for several weeks before she found her new caring home in
Ashton-under-Lyne. She gave her new owners so much
love and
fun that they decided to adopt another of our dogs, this time a
puppy.
Tess had been signed over to the branch by TMBC Social Services as her owner could no longer care for her and, luckily for her, she went to join Cassy at 3 months of age. They have become great friends, although their temperaments are very different. Tess has proved a bit of a handful, especially as she has had to go through all the normal destructive phase of a new puppy. Their owners say they love them to bits and would not part with either of them for the world. |

|
|
| HARRY - first on the left with his new friends |
|
| Harry was with us for over 14 months and at over
8 years of
age it was doubtful that he would ever find someone to call his
own. His first adoption did not work out and he was returned
due
to having an uncertain temperament. His future looked very
bleak. A Dog Behaviourist was called in and Harry passed the
tests with flying colours.
A caring family from Macclesfield decided to take him on and as you can see from the photograph above he is now a very happy and obedient dog. They tell us that he quickly got over his initial travel sickness and has taken to obedience and agility like a "duck to water". We can't thank his new owners enough for giving Harry a wonderful new life. Please, when you are looking to adopt, consider an older dog. All too often they are passed over simply because of their age. Many dogs, border collies included, can live to a ripe old age and remain active for many years. Harry is living proof of this. See the photos above of Harry "at the top of the A-frame" and "Out of the tunnel" |

|
|
| TOMMY - was with us for a shorter time and was lucky enough to find a loving home in Swindon. His new owners saw him on the internet and decided to give him the caring home he so desperately needed . He has settled in well, enjoys attending evening classes at his local college, and is thoroughly enjoying life. They also tell us "We've come to the conclusion that, as he's such a unique character, he must be a thoroughbred of some sort, and have dubbed him a "Mancunian Bitsa " [as in '...bitsa this and bitsa that']". | |
| TOMMY - relaxing at home |
|
| He has become a loving, faithful companion but still has some problems relating to other dogs which his adopters are working on. Dogs which have previously been neglected often need very special people who understand that extra patience and kindness are needed. If you can offer an extra caring home, such as Tommy's, please consider a dog who, through no fault of his own, now needs that little more understanding. | |

|
| Susan- patrolling
her new domain |
|
| Susan
was adopted in
February this year (although she was called Christy at the kennels). To
start with she was terribly shy and we barely saw her. Unfortunately
she wasn't very well and a combination of a nasty cold and an
underactive thyroid meant that we have made quite a few trips to the
vet!
Her thyroid problem meant that she lost quite a lot of her fur, but now she has been on treatment it has almost completely grown back. The vet is pleased with her, but she will have to be on tablets permanently and she goes for a blood test every few months to keep a check on it. Luckily she eats anything put in front of her (including our dinner if we're not careful!) so we don't have any trouble giving her the tablets with her food. She's still a bit timid with strangers but is quite
happy and
affectionate with us. Her favourite toys are ping-pong balls which she
loves to bat round the wooden floor in the kitchen and she has made
friends with a couple of our neighbours cats too. As you can see in the
photo she likes spending time in the garden and she's not at all
camera-shy. She's a lovely
companion and
we're so pleased to have her. |

| Meg happy and Content |
![]() |
| Attached is picture of Meg, trimmed and groomed. She looks happy, and she is. She knows now that this is her home, and she loves it here. We're trying very hard with the training, making sure that the 4 of us, Peter, Mandy, Emily and James, are consistent, do the same things and use the same hand signals. (She's very sensitive to movement and vibration). She has walks every day, both short and long, and we're getting her diet sorted so that she's already a bit lighter and a bit fitter. She's excellent with the children, especially Emily, and she loves to play. We've had her off the lead a couple of times outside, in places that are open, but enclosed, and she's been great. We're still working on her pulling on the lead, but this has improved, apart from when she first goes out, and we're working on reducing her barking when people come into the house. Even though we've only had her for 18 days she's already become part of the family, and we're looking forward to the kids' half-term when we're going to the Lake District for a few days, she'll love it there. | |
