Poppy, Henry and Toby, a very happy trio |
![]() I just thought I would share 3 photos of my new adopted family. The trio, Poppy, Henry and Toby, have made themselves very much at home, in fact you could say they've taken over! They are now enjoying outside life and visiting neighbours, who all seem to fall in love with them. They're great company and it was definitely my wisest decision to give these 3 a home. Thanks to Doris and for all the great work that the branch do. |

Lewis who likes a walk and to visit the shops |
![]() Hi, Just thought I would send you a picture of my cat Lewis who I got from you in June 2005. He's doing great. He's the best cat and so funny!! He comes on walks with me and the dog round the fields. Sometimes when I nip out to the shop he will follow me and sit outside the shop and wait for me then follow me all the way back. He's such a character. Hope you can display the photo on your website. |

Bonnie is working on making new friends |
![]() Bonnie's new family recently wrote to let us know how she is getting on. As you can see she's setting in nicely. Still a bit clingy but very playful with her toys. It will be great when we can let her run free off the lead. She does show a bit of aggression when first meeting the other dogs but seems fine now. We will keep her on the extender lead till her confidence builds up. This great little collies cross is 8 years old and loving her new life. A big thank you from all of us in the branch for giving her the wonderful life she so deserves. |

Treacle and Spangle (formerly Peanut) loving life in their family home. |
![]() It's nearly a year since we took Treacle and Spangle, and they've pretty much taken over. Treacle made herself completely at home from day 1 and has blossomed into a confident, friendly cat who pats you with a paw if she feels she isn't getting enough attention. She loves to bask in the sun, but doesn't know what to do about the local squirrels. Spangle spent the first few weeks living under the furniture and hissing whenever anyone approached. Over time she's come to trust us, and now wakes us by leaping onto the bed and purring loudly when she's ready for breakfast (which is generally an hour or two before we are). Thank you for the opportunity to look after two such lovely cats. |

Here is Tetley enjoying the good life in the country. |
Hello there, we thought to let you know how our cat Tetley is getting on. We brought him home on the 28th June 2009. He settled in super quickly, and after a few hours of exploring the house he was socialising with us loads and making himself at home. He is the most vocal cat we have ever met, and we love his different range of voices! He had definitely made himself at home when Christmas came, he would lie next to the fire all night. He didn't think much of the snow when it came to going outside though. He is the friendliest cat we have ever met and he adores his tummy being tickled and being scratched behind the ears, he will jump onto your lap before you even sit down and will sit with us and watch television. He is now allowed outside and loves going out on sunny days to sleep on the wall or the trampoline. As we live in the countryside he likes exploring a lot. He is a little mischievous sometimes and drinks out of the fish bowl and stalks birds (he never catches them though). He now has lots of nicknames like Tetters and Tett, he responds to them all! We give a big thank-you to Doris and RSPCA for letting us re-home Tetley. We are so glad we adopted him and gave him a loving home that he deserves. :) |

Digit was a puppy who had been illegally docked but luckily found a caring new home. Here's a photo of him a short time after his long journey from Manchester to the North East. Digit is growing up fast and living the good life by the sea. |
![]() ![]() Digit's family wrote to tell us that he is doing incredibly well in all areas. Only problem is he hasn't got much playfulness with boisterous puppies. He loves calm and gentle dogs male and female but puppies who want to play....no chance. He is his own man this one with a calm reassuring presence at all times. We have had him in puppy training and he is amazing. He gets anything new in one attempt and is yet to get bored in any way ...love it . We are already able to use silent commands for sit, stand, down and heel so he's almost completed his improver class and will be doing bronze next. He shows no aggression in any way even when we take food away from him he lets us do whatever we need to do even to the extent of having to say "please" (he barks) to get it back. He also swims when the water is warm enough and the treats are plentiful...haha. Well hope you like the photos as much as we do. Thanks again for your time Joyce it's greatly appreciated and thanks for giving us Digit. |

Milly taking it easy in her new home |
![]() Here are the promised photos of Milly - she is very happy and much loved. She is sitting on my knee as I type this, which makes it very difficult, and she jumps on Peter's when he's doing the crossword - she just wants love and tickles all the time and is a very calm and laid-back little terrier - except when she sees cats! One photo shows her on her "perch" at the end of the settee, where she can watch for cats, and when that gets too tiring, fall asleep along the back of the seat. She loves her pigs' ears and tripe sticks for occasional treats - the smellier the treat, the better, and tries to eat the bread people put out for the ducks on the side of the brook next to where we live. She goes to the local football matches with her man on Saturday afternoons and howls for the ball, so we bought her one of her own. Unfortunately, she does "flying tackles" at it and slides along the floor in the mud, so it's not the cleanest of games! |

Bunk aka Fluffy - demonstrating how to settle in to a new home and train those humans. |
![]() We adopted Bunk (formally known as Fluffy) in
December 2009. He settled in so quickly and soon made himself at home
as you will see from the pictures! His favourite thing is to sleep, but
when he's not sleeping he loves to play around his scratch post and
with plastic bags! In between all that he loves nothing more than to
cuddle up on the sofa with us and watch the soaps. He's adorable and we can't imagine life
without him!

Fergie (aka Candy) loving life in her new home. |
![]() You have given us an angel! Fergie (AKA Candy) immediately made herself at home and is just the most loving and gentle, little pussy cat imaginable. She has claimed the best chair in the house, developed a passion for carver ham and absolutely every activity seems to require her supervision. She is a total pleasure. Our sincere thanks go to everyone that plays a part in your charity, in every way – you have all been so kind and helpful. Be assured we will do our best to give Fergie the loving home she so deserves. |

Rusty and Zola (aka Minstrel and May) JUST LOOK AT US NOW! |
![]() We promised Doris when we took Minstrel & May (now Rusty & Zola) back in May 2009 that we would write & send some photos to update her on their progress. They were both around 2 months old when we took them and as you can see from the photo were very tiny, only just reaching up to the legs of our coffee table. They were not from the same litter but Doris had placed them together as she was struggling to find a home for Rusty (black cats were not in demand apparently) and so she put him with little Zola (who was very popular) to see if they could be homed together. When we first saw them Rusty came running all the way up my leg and we fell in love with them instantly. They are now around 10 months old and have grown into a very beautiful pair. Zola is the 'supermodel' cat with a slim build and pretty face; whereas Rusty has developed into a handsome & muscular young lad. We would like to thanks Doris very much for allowing us to take them as we couldn't imagine them being anywhere else! They are both very affectionate and love to play 'fetch' with their toys (no longer just a dogs game!) They also loved their first Christmas and were very spoilt (especially by their two Nana's!) |

Heidi has put on weight now she has experienced lots of Tender Loving Care from her new family. |
![]() Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know how Heidi has settled. We gave her a home at end of October She has now put on weight and looks much better for it. She loves all the attention and lap sitting and cuddles. She also enjoys playing with her toys and opened her own Christmas presents. I have attached some photos, she is one of the family now and it seems as though we have never been without her. |

Ruby Rocket and Merlin Sniff (aka Trouble and Pippa) in their new home |
![]() When we first adopted them, you advised us that they had bonded and out of the litter you didn't really want them separated. We took them together and I think this was the right decision as they are never apart! They play together all day long and follow one another around the house. When they first arrived home, they were so nervous and we had to take great care to make them feel relaxed in their new home. Last weekend we put a cat door in and they are now beginning their adventures outside! They loved the snow and spent hours trying to catch falling snowflakes before coming back inside to fall asleep infront of the radiator. Adopting Merlin and Ruby was one of the best things that we have done and we think they are very happy with us! Thank-you again. |

Georgie in his new home proving that a disability doesn't get him down. |
![]() Just thought we would drop you a line to let
you know how Georgie is getting on. We adopted Georgie in
April. We were quite apprehensive about bringing him home as he
has cerebellar attaxia and is disabled. However, we had no need
to worry - he is a real character, cuddly and affectionate and he gets
on well with our other cats. He has turned out to be a very
adaptable little boy - as you can see from the photo, being disabled hasn't stopped him from
becoming a good climber!

Harry loving his new life, and his country and seaside walks. |
![]() Hello
everyone.
It's now just over a year since Harry arrived, and I am writing to let you know how well he has settled. He is bags of fun and is enjoying life. We go to dog training classes most Monday evenings, and he is doing really well. As you can see from the photos he loves being out and about in the countryside and has loads of energy. He is still full of mischief and loves stealing things. Thanks again for all you do. |

Fizz (aka Polly) enjoying her first Christmas with her new family. |
![]() We adopted a cat called Polly in August, we
renamed her Fizz because of her bubbly personality. Fizz has
settled in really well and has enjoyed her first Christmas with
us. She is a beautiful cat with a lovely personality, very
affectionate and full of fun. We
love Fizz lots and would like to thank Doris for
allowing us to adopt her.

Milly enjoying lots of attention and exercise in her new home. |
![]() Milly, a 5 year old JRT, was recently rehomed
to a loving family who have written to tell us how well she has settled
in.
She is very happy and has settled quickly - no surprise really as she has lots of toys, goes lots of walks, gets lots of cuddles and has a heated bed for the winter months! She is absolutely adorable and we love her to bits, as does everyone who meets her. She has two beds in different rooms and a furry mat upstairs, but prefers to sleep on knees is possible. She is enjoying the snow and walking in the park, and has learned to "shake a paw" and bring a ball. |

|
Domino and Artie (aka Casey and Rudy) are looking forward to their first Christmas in their new home. |
As we promised Doris, we thought we would
update you on how Artie (previously Rudy) and Domino (previously Casey)
are doing. We adopted Artie first in early November 2009 and he
settled in immediately, 3 weeks later we returned to get Domino as
everyone needs a friend. From their first encounter they hit it
off and have been inseparable since. They are both partners in
crime, their days are spent eating, playing, sleeping, playing, getting
cuddles and kisses from their humans eating more and thoroughly
enjoying life, plus their favourite, trashing the house!!. As you
can see from the photos they are also honing their climbing skills and
can shin up the Christmas tree very proficiently now though the
Christmas tree hasn't faired to well!!!
Both fur babies are an absolute delight and have brought us great joy and love. Thanks to Doris for all her endless hard work, keep up the good work as looking at our two tearaways your efforts bring great joy to people like ourselves and the cats they adopt |

Lola has soon settled into her new home |
![]() Hello Everyone
Just to let you know about Lola's progress. We love her to bits and she has John wrapped around her little paw. She is marvellous in the house, happy and full of fun, but is still nervous outside and with others. Hopefully she will get better as we walk her. We love having her. She is a star! |

Amber loving life in her new home |
![]() Hi, we adopted our lovely cat Amber in April 2009, she had lost one of her legs after an incident with a dog, as you can see from the photos she has settled in well, and has made friends with Chole one of our cats. On her first night she was so confident that she sat in my husband's chair and stayed there for most of the night, and refused to move. She is a great addition to our family and we would not be without her. |

Fritz has settled down with his new family |
![]() I wanted to give you an update on Fritz the Black & White cat that we adopted about 1 month ago. He has settled very well into his new home, in fact within only a couple of hours he was strutting around like he had been there for years, he is receiving lots of love within our family and loves playing with our little girl. He spends lots of time sleeping at the end of our bed on his furry rug and has developed quite a voice, especially around food time! I’m sure he can’t wait to go outside and explore all the fields surrounding our cottage. Thank you for allowing us to adopt such a friendly, loving and cheeky chap, he really is a joy of a cat to have around and he seems to be enjoying being around us too. |

China growing in confidence with her new family. |
![]() This is just to say thank you to
Doris for allowing China to come and live with us. As you will
remember, China was very nervous when we first adopted her in
September, but as you can see from the enclosed photographs she has
grown in confidence, made herself very much at home, and now likes to
curl up on my son’s lap, or on her blanket on the sofa for a bit of
pampering. She also loves her toys, and likes to show the ball on
her scratch post who’s boss. She has a ‘mad half hour’ every evening
when the kitten in her comes out, and she’s so cute. She’s a lovely cat and we wouldn’t be without
her so thank you again.

Star who is proving simply a Star in her new home |
![]() Please find attached a picture of Star, who we adopted from you back in November 2007. You named her Star, and we kept her beautiful name. She is the Queen of our house and although is not the best of friends with our older cat Tessa, she has settled in and we love her to bits. She adores her "mum" my daughter Paige who is 10, and stays by her side be it awake or asleep! Wherever Paige is, Star is not far behind. When we collected her from you she had been very poorly and you had nursed her back to health. Now she has put on weight and loves sleeping in the sun. She is a good hunter and whatever she catches she takes directly to Paige and gives to her, her gift!!!! Thank you for all your help and we wish the best to all of you at the cattery. We recently recommended you to one of our friends who hve never had a cat before, so I sent them packing to you for help and advice, knowing that you would help them adopt a new addition to their family. Keep up the great work! |

Update on Fly and Tippy who are now called Scooby and Rebel |
![]() Just letting you know that these two rascals have settled in really well and are a bundle of fun. They love their new home and are enjoying the all the love and attention. We are so grateful for the service you folks at the RSPCA provide, without caring people like you we wouldn't of had this opportunity to help two animals without a home. Keep up the good work, you really do make a great difference to animals who need help. |

![]() Dear Sue and everybody else at the RSPCA. I wanted to send you all a message to say that I am loving my new home, my Mum, Dad and sisters really look after me and take me on great walks. I have been swimming quite a lot. Dad says it tires me out, but I am soon ready for more!! I have just been on my first holiday with my new family to Wales, it was brilliant, we stayed in a caravan near a lake and I did even more swimming. My 3rd place rosette from Tulip Sunday is pinned up in the dining room, but my Mum goes on a website called "Its a spring thing" - all about Springers, and everybody on there that has seen my picture says I was robbed, I should have been 1st!! My Mum and Dad have added some pictures for you to look at hope you enjoy them. Must go now, I have a busy day, we are going up to Werneth Low later - Great!! Lots of Love and thank you for letting me come to live here with my new family, (My Mum, Dad and Sisters say thank you too!) GUS xxxxxx |

Haniko's new family sent us an update and photos of Haniko who was known as Foxy whilst in Branch care. They told us: "Haniko had her first completely free run in the fields and came back every time we called (she'll do nearly anything for sausages!) She is the most fantastic and affectionate little person, and you and your team have done wonders with her. Nobody believes she's a rescue! We'll be sure to keep in touch" |

Blade - happily settled in with his new family. |
![]() Just a short message to let you know Blade is having a ball! He settled completely within 48hrs and now behaves like a proper dog. He loves walks, his favourite toy is a piece of rope with a knot in it. And is unrecognizable from the manic Blade who we first met. A huge thank you to Blade's new family, of all the breed dogs the RSPCA takes in to rehome the lively, loving staffies of this world are the hardest to rehome, simply due to the terrible press they received. With the right people these little dogs make wonderful family pets. |

|
Trixie happily settled in her new home |
![]() We adopted Trixie from RSPCA Tameside & Glossop Branch in early November last year. I am pleased to say she is fully setlled, and made her self 'Lady of the Manor' within hours of being with us!! She is an indoor cat at the moment, this is only because she has shown no interest in going outside and much prefers being inside getting lots of attention! She is our first pet, and she is an absolute treasure! We never expected to fall so in love with her! She is a bit of a strange cat, in that she wants lots of cuddles and kisses! She loves playing with her ever growing selection of toys, her favourite being her teddy (which she is cuddling in one of the pics) and her mouse, both of which she finds when its bedtime and bring to bed with her! She is so settled in that she now sleeps in our bedroom, often on our bed! She hasn't grown since we brought her home, and people often think she's still a kitten, even though she's nearly 18 months old now! I am so grateful to your team for showing us Trixie, as we can't imagine life without her now! She is such a happy, funny, loving little cat and we love her so much! She is definately a spoilt princess! |

Sam enjoying life with his new family |
Sam's new family sent us this update on Sam. Sam's settled in really well, and has responded well to family life(especially Alice who's six,he loves her to bits and makes such a fuss over her). Sam is such a playful loving dog and loves being with us all, he's not even been with us for a week yet, but has warmed our hearts and loves to be close. What more can I say? A truly lovely dog, who will receive all the love that he needs. Jess (a dog they previously adopted from the branch) and I were very close and her her parting, left a massive void in my heart, as with every one that was close to her. Thanks for entrusting Sam into my care. I promise he will have a long, happy life. |

Sasha and her new friend Pickles enjoying family life together. |
![]() I am just writing to let you know how well Sasha is doing. She and Pickles get on great together. They are always playing, chasing each other in the park and generally mucking about together, that's when they are not sleeping! Pickles seems much happier now, she has been good for him, as has her new home been for her. We have been taking her training, only her second week and she is a star! She loves climbing up on the sofa and going to sleep on your lap. The pair of them are never far apart from each other. I just have to say thank you again to you and all the other RSPCA staff and thanks to Dog Pages where we found both our dogs. |

Rocco's new family sent us the following email: Just thought I would send you and the rest of the team some pics of Rocco (Rex) at home with Tara our other dog. |
Milou enjoying life with his new family |
Milou's new family sent this email to the branch: When we adopted Milou (formerly known as Kipper) Doris asked that we send some photos of him in his new home. We adopted him at 8 weeks (first photo) and he is 9 months old now (last 2 photos) so it seems a good time to write. Milou was fostered by Carol in her home and we would like to thank you for giving him such an excellent start in life. He is the most charming cat you could imagine. He adores our other cat Poppy and recognises her as Queen of the household, which suits Poppy. You can see him here playing the rug game, this involves hiding under the rug until Poppy pounces on him (she's a hefty cat) and then they chase each other until Poppy gets fed up, Milou never does. We call him "Milou Titchmarsh" because like his namesake his motto is "enjoy your garden" and Milou certainly does, he brings in all manner of playthings: rose petals (charming), live bees (worrying), live worms (yuck) and a large collection of autumn leaves, elastic bands!! and feathers (his and Poppy's favourite) but fortunately no birds. We are very grateful to the branch (especially Carol and Doris) for helping us to adopted such a lovely cat, and we think that you do a great job. Kind Regards and Happy Christmas to you and the cats and dogs in your care, lets hope they find good homes in the New Year. |

![]() Buddy's family wrote to tell us how well Buddy
(who was known as Ash) has settled into his new life.
We adopted Ash (now called Buddy) from you a few weeks ago. Just to let you all know that he is absolutely great can't imagine being without him. He has taken over our daughter's bean bag together with the settee. He has settled in really well and is so clean and he loves our garden. He is still quite nervous about walks but we are getting there but a couple of weeks later they report that he is still doing well and having a few longer walks. Very soft and loves our daughters bed (Yes he is now coming upstairs) but still in his own cage at night. |

Hector relaxing
at home.
|
![]() Some of you may remember Hector who only has 3 legs due to a terrible injury to his left hind leg, which our vets at GMAH were forced to amputate to save his life. His new family recently sent us some photos of him relaxing at home. Hector proves that 3 legs are as good as four any day! |

Suzy in her new
home
|
![]() Email recently received from Suzy's new family:
We have attached some photos of Suzy, she has settled in amazingly well, gained our trust and made loads of new friends. She has given and received loads of TLC and sleeps next to my daughters bed! Suzy still gets very nervous but we are always there for her. We are looking forward to our first Christmas together! She may not be perfect but she is a faithful companion and we love her just the way she is. Thank you to all the people at Tameside RSPCA. |
