- Polecat Ferret
A female ferret went missing in the Hyde area of Tameside, Greater Manchester on Monday 14th April 08.    She is a family pet and very friendly.  If found, or if you have seen her, please email the branch,

Lost - Sabre, German Shepherd bitch who went missing overnight on Friday 11th April 2008 in the Hurst Cross area of Ashton-u-Lyne.  She has a sable coloured coat (mainly light brown with black  hairs mixed in) and is approximately 2 years old.  She was wearing a black leather collar with silver bones, a flea collar and choke chain, but no ID tag or microchip.  If you find or see this dog please send any information to the branch, the police, or the local dog warden.  Her owners are very worried as she doesn't normally roam and is afraid of thunder.

Lost - Polecat Ferrets.  Two male polecat ferrets
have gone missing in the Denton area of Tameside, Greater Manchester.

Lost - Snowy who is a 3 year Old Jack Russell dog, he is short legged
 and short tailed.  He went missing from the Broad Lane area of Rochdale on
Weds 23rd of January 2008.  His worried owners have been very proactive
and by Thursday 24th they had posted leaflets through surrounding areas and
all local shops and public places.  They are visiting the Manchester dogs home daily
and have informed dog wardens. They phone the police to check for accidents and
also the highway cleansing (thankfully no incidents reported so far).

Snowy has no collar on, he is not micro-chipped and not neutered.
 Snowy is a loving family pet and not a wanderer and they know if he could get home
he would.

LOST - Tag , a working sheepdog type Border Collie, who is almost 17 years old
and blind.  Went missing from Dukinfield Cemetery/Old Road area of Dukinfield on
Friday 4th January 08.  Any information please ring Richard on 0774 839 0397

LOST - Border Terrier- grey grizzle coat.  He is almost 3 years old and
 micro-chipped.  This little dog was last seen in Audenshaw near playing fields

is a black and white neutured 3 year old male cat
who went missing recently (early December 2007).

Lost - Yorkshire Terrier, medium sized with longer legs.  Silver/Grey and Tan.   
Approximately 6 years old, un-neutered, not micro-chipped and was wearing a tartan collar.
 Last seen in the Manor Road Area of Haughton Green, Denton, Manchester.

Tilly - has been missing since Sunday 12th August 2007 from the Lyme Grove area of Romiley,
 Stockport. 
She is a black and white female, Domestic Short Hair cat who was wearing a white reflective collar
 with a bell and "mouse magnet". 

Tilly was an RSPCA rescue kitten.  She's a lovely affectionate cat who loves being outdoors,
but returns home every night.  Her brother Chester is very miserable without her
and so are her owners who are urgently seeking information.

Smokey

Cairn Terriers
- Mum and Daughter were stolen 2 weeks ago today (1/5/07)
along with their owner's van from the Hyde area of Tameside. 
Mum is Sandy light brindle and her daughter is darker with a black muzzle (see photo).
They are 15 months and 15 weeks old respectively.

If you have seen them or have any other information, such as a neighbour
suddenly obtaining a little Cairn, please telephone their desperate owner on 07771653235.
Missing mum and daughter
British Short Hair with blue paws, tail and face.  He is 3 and a half years old, and an entire 
Tom cat, ie he hasn't been neutered. At the time he went missing he was wearing a silver coloured
 collar with gems and a bell.

He was last seen in the Broadoak Road area of Ashton-under-Lyne on 23rd March 07.

Tiggy
went missing from the Mossley area of Tameside in December 2005,
but his owners still haven't given up hope that he will be found safe and well.

He was around 5 years old at the time, very vocal & friendly. He is quite long,
has a strong build and a pointed face (he looked slightly like a Siamese).

Tiggy
Twinkis a two-year old male cat.  He is long-haired with green eyes. 
He wasn't wearing a collar.  He also has large ears, but is not not micro-chipped.
He was last seen on Monday 27th November in the Shirebrook area of Glossop.

Harry is a ten month old bull terrier dog with a brindle right ear
and small brindle patch on one eye.  His distinguishing feature is that he only has one testicle.
Harry went missing on the 2nd October 2006 from Mossley, Nr. Oldham, Lancs.

He was wearing a royal blue collar and ID tag.  .

Smokey, a much-loved family cat, went missing in September 06. 
He wandered off from his home in the Flowery Field area of Hyde. 
He was 18 months old at the time.

The UK National Missing Pets Register and others.

6. Your local press

7. Local Shops - ask if you can put up posters etc.

8. Local refuse collectors, street cleaners, postmen, taxi drivers and milkmen - all are regularly out and about the area and may
 have seen him/her.

9. All your local rescues

10. The local Highways or your Local Authority's Refuse Department (in case of a road traffic accident)

11. Visit your Local Authority's (LA) and neighbouring LA's web sites as many who still employ
their own dog wardens now list found dogs along with their photographs.

Not necessarily in the above order but at least you will have done everything you possibly can.
Your local authority will have the name, address and telephone number of the holding kennels
and may know of other animal rescue organisations in your area. Its a good idea to visit them every day if possible -
especially if they deal with very large numbers of strays.

                                Please remember to inform everyone if a lost animal is found or a found animal has been reunited with his/her family.
