The adoption process

Choosing a dog? - important questions for a successful adoption

Adoption Fee - £95

Please note - Most of our dogs and all puppies under 6 months old will only be rehomed to families
where they will not be left at home for long hours during the day whilst the family is out at work and school,
and who have no young children under 5 years of age.

We do our best to match adopters' lifestyles with our dogs' needs.
For example: a young dog may be very lively and strong and could outlive an older person
but we sometimes have dogs who have seen a bit more of life and have come into our care through no fault of their own.
They are often very sensible, many have been well trained by their previous owners and now they have reached middle age would benefit greatly
from the love, attention and extra time spent on them which can be found in the home of a retired person.
Please contact us if you are looking for such a dog.

Domino
Domino is a 3 year old Dalmation and due to his owners' ill health they decided to asked us to find him a loving home.  He is very friendly and currently lives with children, he is also good with other dogs.

He is however, very strong on the lead and will benefit from further training as his owner has not been able to give him the exercise he needs.

He would love a family that could take him on long walks. We would not re-home him with very small children due to his boisterous nature he could easily knock them over.

For further information and if you think that you could offer Domino a caring new home and would like to visit him please telephone 07050 264 531 (ansaphone), leaving a message with your contact details for Gail or send her an email

Merlin

Merlin - a hearbeat at your feet
.  He is a stunning, eye-catching 18 month old smooth-haired, merle coloured Lurcher.  Merlin loves everyone he meets, adults, children and other dogs.  He is always ready to play or to go for a walk or simply to sit and lean calmly by your side.  His one wish is to find a caring, forever family to call his own.

As we don't know Merlin's history and we think that he may have been worked, we wouldn't recommend him to a family with cats or other small animals.

If you would like a loyal, kind and gentle, dog  who will turn heads wherever he goes
.............

... then please telephone 07050 264 531 (ansaphone), leaving a message with your contact details for Joyce or send her an email

Sky
Sky is a young adult, mixed-breed dog who has raised a family of puppies and is now looking for a caring new home of her own.

Sky was a little timid when she first came into our care but has come on leaps and bounds and is now a really friendly, confident, girl.  She is ok with other dogs and although she is a bit strong on the lead she would benefit from some extra training and, as she really likes treats, she will soon learn to walk properly by your side.

For further information and if you think that you could offer Sky a caring new home and would like to visit her please telephone 07050 264 531 (ansaphone), leaving a message with your contact details for Joyce or send her an email

Brindle Cross

Boy is a 6 year old Staffy cross who is looking for a new family through no fault of his own. He is a good lad who loves people. He is house-trained and lives with another dog but we don't know if he would get on with cats.

He is looking for that special person call his own and in return his new family will gain a happy, fun loving, companion.

If you would like to visit him please telephone 07050 264 531 (ansaphone), leaving a message with your contact details for Gail or send her an email not forgetting to include a contact telephone number.

Lucia

Lucia  is a happy, fun, sweet and, of course friendly, 9 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is ready to spend the rest of her life with her new family. Lucia has nothing but love and friendliness to spread around to everyone she meets!  Anyone would love her right away because Lucia loves everybody she meets and we know she'll love you too!

Lucia is looking for a new home through no fault of her own, she is still lively and likes to play.  Lucia currently lives with 2 other dogs with no problems, but she does prefer human company so would be happy as an only dog.

She will only be rehomed with children over 8 years age as she is a very lively dog who could easily knock a younger child over.

If you think that you could offer Lucia a caring new home and would like to visit her please telephone 07050 264 531 (ansaphone), leaving a message with your contact details for Gail or send her an email not forgetting to include a contact telephone number to office@rspca-tameside-glossop.org.uk

Old CharlieOld Gus

Charlie and Gus
are looking for a new home due to their owner passing away suddenly.  Both are 10 years old and in good spirits.  They are a friendly pair who are looking for the right family to spend their time with.

Due to the pair being together for so long they would need to be re-homed together.  If you think you could be the right family for Charlie and Gus contact Joel on 01625 525409

Izzy

Izzy
is a 9 month old, roan, cocker x springer spaniel (a sprocker?).  She has come to the branch to find a new home through no fault of her own but because of her owners' ill-health.

Izzy needs an active family who like long country walks and ideally know her breed type and the exercise she will need.  She will make an excellent family dog as she gets on well with children and adults alike.  Loves to play ball and wants to please.

Smudge
Smudge is a two year old little girl. She is a Jack Russell cross. Smudge used to live with Sophie, but when they came into one of our foster homes we found that they did fall out a bit, and as the fosterer had her own dogs and cats we decided to put Smudge in with another fosterer. Their life was quite tough before they came to us, and they had very few social skills, but our fosterers have worked really hard and she is coming on in leaps and bounds. Smudge is very loving once she settles, and with her new fosterer she still lives with a cat. We will not re-home her with small children because when she first meets you she is timid.

REHOMED

Sophie

Sophie is about six years old. We think she could be the mum to Smudge. Sophie is very loving and was quite under weight when she came into us but we are pleased to report she is filling out a little. She lives with the fosterers dogs and cats and has started to love to go for her walks, does not gobble her food down and just loves to cuddle up with everyone.

For further information and if you think that you could offer Sophie a caring new home and would like to visit her please telephone 07050 264 531 (ansaphone), leaving a message with your contact details for Gail or send her an email

REHOMED

Chico

Chico
is a 9 month old crossbreed dog who is looking for a caring new family to come forward and offer him a loving home life for the first time in his short life.

Chico was unwanted by his previous family but we don't know why as he's a loving, lively young dog who just needs an active family who will take him to exciting new places and love his funny, bouncy character.   Chico has now had his first vaccinations, will be microchipped and his neutering arranged before he goes home.

If Chico could speak he would say "I just know the right home is out there for me somewhere..... I've got all my paws crossed!!!!"

Sonny

Sonny is a lovely Staffordshire crossbreed.  He is about 9 months old and has a lovely, easy to manage, tan and white coat.  Sonny is very nervous when he first meets someone new but is very good with people and other dogs once he is introduced.

Sonny is looking for a home with adults or a family with older children who will work with Sonny and teach him that life can be lots of  fun.

 REHOMED

SunnyBoy

Sonny Boy
is a smooth-haired Tan/Sandy and White Lurcher who thought to be 4 or 5 years old and is looking for a caring new home.

Sonny came to us from a kind lady who took him in and cared for him when he was dumped by his previous owners.  Sonny was originally very underweight and still has his battle scars as can be seen from his photo.  Despite his previous very hard life as a working dog he has been found to be
a very kind and gentle dog.  Because he has obviously been worked,  we don't think that he is really suitable for a home where there is a cat or other small furries in the family.

REHOMED

Canny Collar - kind and gentle way to stop pulling on the lead
