Rescued cats desperately seeking caring homes
updated 27th August 2008

All our cats (below) who are looking for new families to call their own were brought into branch care by RSPCA Inspectors
A few of the cats detailed below may have already gone to their new homes, but Inspectors are bringing in more cats every day.  Many have been ill-treated by their previous owners.  If you could offer a little cat a loving home to call their own please don't hesitate to ring for an appointment to visit the cattery.

Please note - kittens will only be rehomed to families where there is someone at home during the day and where there are no young children under 5 years of age.  Click here to find out about the adoption process

We do our best to match adopters' lifestyles with our cats' needs.
For example: a kitten or a young adult cat may be too lively and destructive for an older person to cope with and
as cats can live to 18 or 20 years of age they could easily outlive their adoper.
However, we often have more mature cat
s in care who have seen a bit more of life.
They are often very sensible and may never have experienced the loving, calm home a retired person could offer them.
Please contact us if you are looking for such a cat.

Families are advised to keep their newly adopted friend indoors for several weeks before allowing them to go outside.

PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CATS ARE NEUTERED, TOO MANY BEAUTIFUL KITTENS - TOO FEW GOOD HOMES

Henri

Henri is a neutered male Birman who is 3 years old. He is looking for an experienced Birman owner who will know how to care for his coat correctly.

REHOMED

Huey

Huey is a two year old male who came in to the branch via one of our Inspectors. He has very eye catching grey markings and is used to living with other cats.

Toby

Toby is a 12 month old grey and white male. He is used to living in a multi-cat household and has a very sweet nature.

Brian

Brian is a 7 month old white and grey male. He came into the brach via the Inspector and will need gentle handling and patience in his new home as he is a little nervous at present.

Hope

Hope is an adult female who came in to branch care as a stray having given birth on the street, exposed to the elements. She has been in foster care since then raising her kitten beautifully and is now ready for a forever home. Her fosterer says 'Hope has a very sweet nature and her favourite thing is attention and tickles. When she has met any of my own cats she has been well behaved so should be happy in a multi-cat household'

REHOMED

Faith

Faith is an 18 month old female who is very gentle and loving. She has lived in a multi-cat household before and is used to being handled by children.

Faith's kittens

Faith's Kittens - we have six kittens of both sexes, some are jet black and some are black and white. They are 9 weeks old and ready for their new homes.

Wilkinson's Trio

pop

Snap, Crackle and Pop our Wilkinson's Trio, now have their own names.  Volunteers took in more than donations one weekend!  Whilst raising desperately needed funds for the branch at Wilkinson's Store, these 3 little girls, were being offered to passersby outside the store's main door onto the market ground.  Thankfully their owner allowed us to take them into branch care.

Although the black sister is a little camera shy and turned her back on the photographer, she really is as pretty as her tortoiseshell sisters.  They will be ready to go to their new homes in 1 week's time and can be reserved now.

SNAP AND CRACKLE HAVE NOW FOUND NEW HOMES BUT POOR POP (BELOW LEFT) IS STILL LOOKING

Sophie

Sophie is a four years old black female who is neutered and microchipped and ready for her new home. She has a wonderful temperament and is very friendly and confident. She has lived in a multi-pet household with cats, dogs and small animals and is also used to children.

Teddy

Teddy is a one year black old large neutered male.  He is very friendly and affectionate.  He is currently living with Dayzee (below) but would probably be fine living alone as well.

Dayzee

Dayzee is a dainty 8 month old neutered female.  She is very friendly and affectionate although a little timid.  She is currently living with Teddy (above) but would be fine being the only cat as well.

Fudge

Fudge is 2 years old and has a lovely friendly nature. She has lived in a multi-cat household previously and is also used to dogs.

Tikka

Tikka is a 12 month old Calamanca (tortoiseshell colouring only) DSH female who has lived with other cats and a dog before.   Tikka needs an indoor home as she has a suspected congenital disorder which only slightly affects her gait, but would mean that she wouldn't be able to escape from any dangerous situations she could find herself in when out and about in the great outdoors.   She is a little underweight at present and will need some TLC, .

Nancy

Nancy is a quiet 3 year old female.  She can be a little timid but once she knows you she really comes out of her shell. She has a beautiful shiny coat and has been neutered and microchipped ready for her new home.

Percy

Percy is a cat for one of those special people who know beauty only skin deep! He has been living a street life and has the battle scars to prove it. However, he has a fantastic personality and is a real charmer.

RESERVED

Marley

Marley is a 2 year old Black and White DSH male who likes to go outside.  He is looking for a new home due to a change in his previous owners' circumstances.
