Other Animals – Parrots and Cockatiels

The Tameside and Glossop branch very occasionally rehomes other animals.

Duffy We have been asked to find a caring, experienced home for an older parrot and cockatiel

They were inherited when their original owner sadly died and were taken care of by his son. Unfortunately, the family have had a change of circumstances which has meant that the person who cared for them during the day is no longer around and the gentleman’s son who inherited them is working very long hours which isn’t good for the birds who, like 2 or 3 year old children, need human company to thrive.

Duffy, is a 35 – 40 year old African Grey Parrot who is used to flying free in the home but does like the security of his cage when resting.

Beauty is a 13 year old Cockateil who loves to be able to see Duffy even though Duffy isn’t fond of her at all and they have to be kept apart but are happy if they can see each other.

Both birds like to chat away with their humans.

The birds need a family who are experienced parrot owners, an adult only home or one with older teenage children is essential as Duffy can bite if he feels unsure.

If you are interested in possibly adopting these birds please don’t hesitate to contact us by email or leave a message on our answerphone 0954122481
